Tight Jeans- Is comedy an efficient way to present a commentary on serious social topics?

Dramas are great and I’d like to do one, but at the moment I’m loving laughter.”  -   Destiny Ekaragha I agree that a comedy can be a powerful way of addressing serious social issues, as it is much more accessible to a wider audience, and starts the conversation. As Ekaragha says, comedy does tend to stay in your head longer. I believe that comedy as a way of presenting media is one of the most impactful, especially in film. Politics throughout history has always been critiqued in a comedic form, with the creation of political satire. This is an approach that I would like to incorporate in my short film if I choose to address serious topics. In my opinion, the best type of films are both enjoyable and impactful. If a film is constantly full of tragedy, I struggle to want to engage with it as I know that it will only bring my mood down as a viewer. Also, films like that are a
